In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. Must attend Florida State College of Jacksonville.
  2. Must be an undergraduate student at the time of application.
  3. This award is for U.S. students.
  4. Must have a grade point average of 2.5 or higher.
  5. Must be majoring in performing or visual arts.
  6. Must be a U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident.

Description: This scholarship, provided in honor of Virginia E. Christakos, is available to undergraduate students at Florida State College of Jacksonville who are enrolled in a visual or performing arts program.

Additional Information: This scholarship, provided annually in honor of Virginia E. Christakos, is provided by the FSCJ Foundation to students who are enrolled in a visual or performing arts program. Preference for selection of recipients will be based on references and demonstrated financial need.

Award Amount: Up to $1,000 annually, non-renewable.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $1,000.

To apply, students must complete the online scholarship application form. The form can be accessed through the student's web account by clicking on the 'Scholarships' link in the right side of his/her homepage. To be considered for the Virginia E. Christakos Memorial Scholarship, students must also submit two letters of reference, and at least one must be written by a current or former art instructor. All students seeking FSCJ financial aid must file the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) by the deadline date.
