Although many famous actors and actresses have lucrative careers — making millions of dollars per movie — not everyone who pursues a career in acting or theatre has such monumental success. In fact, many graduates with a BFA in theatre have to continue to work hard to develop their skills, land a job, and continue a career in a very competitive market. That same determination is true for those looking to study theatre in school. While a theatre career can be very rewarding, it can also be extremely expensive! This scholarship is open to U.S. high school seniors and adult students entering their freshman year who reside in the Connecticut Community Foundation’s 21-town service area. Students must have a grade point average of B- or higher and must major in the humanities.
This award is for U.S. undergraduate and graduate students who are or will be attending an accredited college or university full-time. Applicants must have a 2.5 GPA and be planning to or currently pursuing a degree leading to a career in the performing arts.
This award is available for current high school and college students. To apply, each student must submit a short video of approximately 2-3 minutes on the topic of nuclear disarmament.
This scholarship competition is open to U.S. high school seniors and currently enrolled undergraduate and graduate students who present a costume design of any genre. Students must have a grade point average of 2.75 or higher.
Maine residents pursuing a major in the performing arts are eligible for this scholarship. Applicants must participate in an audition (or interview if majoring in a technical field).
This scholarship was designed to support a deserving art or music major who is a resident of Aquidneck Island, Rhode Island. The applicant must be enrolled as a sophomore, junior, or senior in an accredited four-year postsecondary institution.
The Matheon Scholarship Fund accepts applications from current high school senior women in Dallas, Texas who plan to major in fine arts, science, or the humanities at a college or university in Texas. Applicants must have a grade point average of 3.1 or higher and a combined math/verbal/writing SAT score of 1500 or higher.
This award is for graduating high school seniors, undergraduate and graduate students interested in pursuing an education in graphic communications. Students must reside in certain areas of New York and New Jersey.
