Although many famous actors and actresses have lucrative careers — making millions of dollars per movie — not everyone who pursues a career in acting or theatre has such monumental success. In fact, many graduates with a BFA in theatre have to continue to work hard to develop their skills, land a job, and continue a career in a very competitive market. That same determination is true for those looking to study theatre in school. While a theatre career can be very rewarding, it can also be extremely expensive! The Pelican Players Scholarship Fund is available for Hillsborough County, Florida high school seniors who have a grade point average of 2.5 or higher. Applicants must be planning to major in performing arts. Additional preference is given to students at East Bay, Lennard, Newsome and Riverview High Schools.
This scholarship is available for college freshman and sophomore students at FSCJ who are enrolled in the theater and entertainment technology program. Applicants must have a grade point average of 2.0 or higher.
This scholarship, provided in honor of Virginia E. Christakos, is available to undergraduate students at Florida State College of Jacksonville who are enrolled in a visual or performing arts program.
This award is available for high school seniors in Monroe, Ohio who plan to major in music or performing arts at an accredited college or university in the U.S. Applicants must have a grade point average of 2.0 or higher.
This scholarship is available for graduating seniors in Greene County, TN and Greenville High School in Greenville, TN. Applicants must have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher and must plan to major in fine art, commercial design, or digital media.
This scholarship program is open to U.S. and international students who are incoming freshmen or transfers at Pacific University. Students must plan to participate in theatre or applied theatre at Pacific University, and must audition to be considered for a scholarship.
This award is available for U.S. undergraduate students who are residents of Kent County, Michigan. Applicants must be studying applied or fine art at one of the following local colleges: Aquinas, Calvin, Grand Valley State University, Grand Rapids Community College, or Kendall. Selection is based on academic performance and demonstrated financial need.
This scholarship is open to California undergraduate students who are enrolled in an arts program/major (i.e., visual arts, dance, music, film, etc.) at an accredited California four-year institution. Students must have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher.
This award is available for U.S. graduate students who are members of the American Society of Naval Engineers (ASNE). Students must be enrolled in a program leading to an engineering or physical science degree at an accredited college or university and have a genuine interest in pursuing a career in naval engineering.
