The Alois and Marie Goldmann Scholarship was established in 1997 by Mary and George Freund in honor of George's grandparents who perished at the Auschwitz concentration camp during the Holocaust. The purpose of this scholarship is to promote a greater understanding of the Holocaust among high school students in Idaho. The primary basis for the selection of a scholarship winner is an original essay or research paper. Beyond a minimum C grade point average, scholastic achievement, financial need and extracurricular or community activities are not factors in selecting the winner. The scholarship committee consists of both Freund family and non-family members. The winner will be contacted no later than June 1.
Applications are available online on the Idaho Community Foundation website. In addition to a completed application, each student must submit an essay or formal research paper on one specific aspect ... sign up for full scholarship deadline information.
