Number of Awards & Eligibility: All eligible applicants will be awarded as long as funding is sufficient.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must be a U.S. citizen.
  3. Must be a resident of Alabama and have established residency prior to the beginning of the term for which financial assistance is requested.
  4. Must be at least 17 years of age.
  5. Must be enrolled in a public, accredited college, university, community college, or technical college in Alabama.
  6. Must be enrolled in an associate's, baccalaureate, master's, or doctorate degree program.
  7. Must be an active member in good standing with the Alabama National Guard, and be a member of a federally recognized unit of the Alabama National Guard. The student must have completed basic training and advanced individual training, unless excluded from this requirement by military regulations.

In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

Description: This award is available to members of the Alabama National Guard who plan to attend a public postsecondary institution in Alabama. Students must be at least 17 years of age.

Additional Information: This award is not based on financial need. Participants may receive federal veterans benefits, but must show a cost less aid amount of at least $25.

Award Amount: Awards are limited to $500 per term, and up to $1,000 annually. Recipients may reapply each year and are eligible for an Alabama National Guard Educational Assistance Program grant for up to ten years after the date of the first grant payment granted through this program.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $656.
