Number of Awards & Eligibility: A limited number of awards is available.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. Must be a resident of OR attending a college/university in Los Angeles or Orange County in California.
  2. Must have a grade point average of 2.5 or higher.
  3. Must be an undergraduate student at the time of application.
  4. This award is for U.S. students.
  5. Must be majoring in a field related to public works.
  6. Must be a U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident.

In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

Description: The American Public Works Association (APWA) Southern California Chapter Undergraduate Scholarship is available for students in Orange County or LA County California who demonstrate an interest in pursuing a degree and/or career related to public works.

Application requirements for the APWA Southern California Chapter Undergraduate Scholarship are:

  • Essay
  • Interview
  • Recommendation letter
  • Application form
Additional Information: Finalists may be required to conduct an interview with the judging committee. All winners are required to agree to a minimum of four hours participating in and promoting various APWA activities.

Applications and information about this award can be found online at the website of the Southern California Chapter of the American Public Works Association (APWA). To be considered for an award, applicants must submit: a completed application form; responses to all sections of the scholarship questionnaire, including an essay of between one and three pages in length; a copy of a current undergraduate transcript; and a letter of recommendation from a current or recent college instructor. Completed applications must be mailed to provided postal address, or emailed to the provided email address no later than the deadline date. . If emailed, applicants must compile one PDF file in the following specific order: application; essay; letters of recommendation; and unofficial transcripts).
