Number of Awards & Eligibility: The number of awards offered varies annually based on the number of eligible applicants.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must be a legal resident of Delaware.
  3. Must have an unweighted cumulative grade point average of 2.5 or higher.
  4. Must be a U.S. citizen or an eligible non-citizen.
  5. Must attend a non-profit, regionally accredited institution in Delaware or Pennsylvania OR attend a non-profit, regionally accredited institution to pursue a degree program that is not offered at a public college in Delaware.
  6. Must enroll full time.
  7. Must enroll in an undergraduate degree program. Students enrolled in graduate programs are eligible only if pursuing a degree program not available at a public college in Delaware.

Description: This award is available for Delaware undergraduate students who are planning to attend eligible colleges/universities in Delaware or Pennsylvania. Graduate students are eligible under certain circumstances. Students must have a grade point average of 2.5 or higher and demonstrate financial need; the eligible level of financial need is updated annually.

Application requirements for the Delaware Scholarship Incentive Program (ScIP) are:

Additional Information: Eligible students must demonstrate the level of financial need required for the 2017-2018 academic year. The levels will be determined after July 1, 2017. Awards will also be made after July 1. Certificate programs are not eligible for funding under this award. Graduate students attending a public college in Delaware are also not eligible.

Award Amount: Eligible undergraduate students receive awards of $700 to $2,200 annually, based on grade point average. Detailed information on award levels is available on the DHEO website. Eligible graduate students receive awards of $1,000 annually. Students must file the FAFSA each year to continue receiving funding.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $1,288.

Scholarship information is available online on the Delware Higher Education Office (DHEO) website. To apply, students must complete and submit a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) by April 15, 2019. The FAFSA is available at www.fafsa.ed.gov, at high school guidance offices, and at college financial aid offices. Students must submit an unofficial transcript to [email protected] and log on to their student profile on the DHEO website to provide updated college enrollment information by June 1, 2019.
