Number of Awards & Eligibility: One award offered annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must be majoring in either environmental engineering or environmental sciences.
  3. Must be a legal resident of Delaware.
  4. Must attend college in Delaware.
  5. Must be a U.S. citizen or eligible non-citizen.
  6. Must be a full-time student.
  7. Must be a high school senior, college freshman, or college sophomore at the time of application.

In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

Description: This award is available to residents of Delaware who are high school seniors or full-time college freshmen or sophomores. Applicants must attend a Delaware college and major in environmental engineering or environmental science.

Additional Information: Award selection is based on financial need, academic performance, community or school involvement, and leadership ability.

Award Amount: $2,000 annually, renewable for up to three additional years if a grade point average of 3.0 or higher is maintained.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $8,000.

Applications are available at the Delaware Higher Education Office (DHEO) website. Most DHEO programs will require the student to submit additional documents including an unofficial transcript, SAT scores, and updated college enrollment information by the scholarship deadline. Students should follow the instructions in the Common Merit Application carefully. Each student must also file the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid). The FAFSA is available online at www.fafsa.ed.gov, at high school guidance offices, and in college financial aid offices. The FAFSA must be filed prior to the application deadline. The Common Merit Application must be submitted by 4:30 p.m. on the deadline date.
