Number of Awards & Eligibility: The number of awards offered varies annually based on the number of eligible students.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must be a U.S. citizen or eligible non-citizen. Please note: Undocumented students may apply under certain circumstances; such students should visit the SEED Scholarship website and click on "Scholarship Requirements" for more information.
  3. Must be a graduating high school or home school senior.
  4. Must be admitted to and attend classes at Delaware Technical Community College (any campus) no later than the fall semester immediately after his/her high school graduation.
  5. Must enroll full time (12 or more credits).
  6. Must satisfy Delaware residency requirements as set forth in Delaware Tech's residency policy.
  7. Must graduate from a Delaware public or non-public high school.
  8. Must have a grade point average of 2.5 or higher on a 4.0 scale, or 80 or higher on a numerical scale, or C+ or higher on a letter scale. Please note: Home-schooled students must provide a complete home-schooled academic transcript, or have earned a combined SAT score of 1350 or higher (critical reading, math, and writing sections) or a composite ACT score of 19 or higher.

Description: This scholarship is available to Delaware high school seniors who graduate from a Delaware public or private high school and attend Delaware Technical Community College. Students must have a grade point average of 2.5 or higher (or 80 on a numerical scale, or C+ on a letter scale).

Application requirements for the DTCC SEED Scholarship are:

Additional Information: The student shall not have been convicted of any felony, and the student and parent/legal guardian or relative caregiver shall certify such fact. If a student has felony charges pending, the student and parent/legal guardian or relative caregiver will sign a certification that if the student is convicted of a felony, the student, parent/legal guardian or relative caregiver will notify the appropriate Delaware Tech Financial Aid Office, and the student will no longer be eligible for the SEED Scholarship. A student shall have applied for all appropriate forms of financial aid for which the student is eligible including, but not limited to, the federal Pell Grant, financial aid programs administered by the Delaware Higher Education Commission, financial aid programs administered by Delaware Tech, and shall have accepted all such financial assistance offered or awarded to the student, except for loans. Please note: If Pell Grant funds cover full tuition, the SEED Scholarship will not be awarded. If Pell Grant funds do not cover full tuition, the SEED Scholarship will be awarded to cover the difference. Notifications of scholarship eligibility are sent after July 16.

Award Amount: The award covers the cost of tuition at DTTC after other financial aid received is deducted from the total tuition costs. Fees and books are not covered. The award is renewable and can be received for a maximum of six semesters. To renew the award, the student must maintain a grade point average of 2.5 or higher and full-time enrollment status (24 or more credit hours per academic year). Applications are available online on the Delaware Technical Community College (DTCC) website. To apply, the student must complete the following steps. First, the student must submit the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) after Jan. 1. The FAFSA is available online at www.fafsa.ed.gov, at high school guidance offices, and at college financial aid offices. Next, the student must submit the SEED Scholarship Application by the priority deadline of April 15 (or the following business day if April 15 falls on a weekend or holiday) to his/her campus's financial aid office. Next, the student must submit an application for admission to DTCC along with a $10 non-refundable application fee. Admissions information is available online at www.dtcc.edu/admissions-financial-aid/apply. Next, the student must participate in placement testing (or provide ACT/SAT scores) and complete academic advisement and registration. Finally, the student must submit his/her final official high school transcript by June 30 (or the following business day if June 30 falls on a weekend or holiday) to the campus financial aid office.
