Number of Awards & Eligibility: Seven scholarships awarded
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must be a U.S. citizen.
  3. Must plan to attend the University of Florida (UF) in Gainesville, FL. The student must be accepted and enrolled at the University of Florida in an undergraduate degree program by the first day of the fall term.
  4. Must have a parent or grandparent who is a member in good standing of the Clay County Gator Club by Nov. 1 of the year of application.
  5. Must plan to enroll as a full-time student.
  6. Must be a high school senior at time of application.

In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

Description: This award is available for current high school seniors who are planning to attend the University of Florida on a full-time basis. The applicant must have a parent or grandparent who is a member of the Clay County Gator Club to be eligible.

Additional Information: Several named memorial scholarships are available: Jack Lee, Sandy Horne, Graham Spurrier, and Dan Robinson, as well as any others that may become available depending on funding levels. Each applicant will be judged on his/her scholastic record, extracurricular activities, community service, and recommendations. Finalists may be called for an interview. Awards will be presented at the applicable high school awards ceremony. If the recipient's school does not have an award ceremony, notification will be sent by mail on or about May 15. All recipients will be invited to attend the CCGC's awards night presentation at the club's regular meeting in June.

Award Amount: $1000 annually, non-renewable.The scholarship recipient may reapply each year for up to three additional years, if the following requirements are met: a grade point average of 3.0 or higher; continued full-time enrollment at UF; good academic standing with UF; and his/her parent/guardian or relative remains a member in good standing of the Clay County Gator Club. If the student is reapplying, he/she must provide a copy of his/her latest transcript with grades and a written request as to why he/she is in need of the scholarship.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $7,000.

Applications are available online from the Clay County Gator Club (CCGC) website. In addition to the completed application, the student must submit the following materials: two letters of recommendation (may be from a teacher, principal, guidance counselor, employer, family friend, minister, etc.); an essay of 150 words or less addressing the topic listed on the application; a current photograph; and an official transcript. The completed application and all supporting materials should be sent to the address provided.
