Number of Awards & Eligibility: Approximately 10 awards offered annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must enroll at the University of Florida as a freshman in the summer or fall following application.
  3. Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident.
  4. Must be a high school senior at time of application.
  5. Must be a resident of Duval county.

Description: Graduating high school seniors who are residents of Duval county and are planning to enroll at the University of Florida are eligible for this award. Applications are available online from the Gator Club of Jacksonville website.

Application requirements for the Gator Club of Jacksonville Scholarship Program are:

Additional Information: Each recipient must have demonstrated personal qualities indicating he or she is likely to become a contributing citizen, including reputation of good character, honesty, leadership, interest in public service and concern for welfare of others. The applicant and/or his/her family must be a member of the Gator Club of Jacksonville to be eligible for this scholarship.

Award Amount: $2,000 annually, non-renewable.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $2,000.

The application deadline date has not yet been finalized for this year, but is expected to remain the same as last year. The deadline date shown here is tentative based on last year's date. Please check back in October for a refreshed application deadline date. Applications are available online from the University of Florida Honors Program website. In addition to the completed application, each student must submit; a recent photo for publication in the Florida Times Union; two letters of recommendation (one page each) describing his/her leadership qualities and concern for the welfare of others (these letters MUST be attached to the application and include the writer's name and daytime telephone number); and a recent transcript including standardized test scores. Students are advised to ensure that all documentation is available prior to beginning the application, as applications cannot be saved and must be completed in one session. All applications and supporting materials must be submitted online by the deadline date.
