Number of Awards & Eligibility: Two awards offered annually: one in spring semester, and one in fall.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident.
  3. Must be a rising college junior or senior.
  4. Must meet admission requirements and be accepted to the University of North Florida.
  5. Must be accepted into a program offered by the UNF School of Engineering (civil engineering, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering).
  6. Must have earned a UNF or transfer grade point average of 3.0 or higher.
  7. Must enroll full time (12 or more credit hours) each semester and earn a minimum of 24 credit hours by the end of each academic year. If the student requires fewer than 12 credit hours to graduate in the final semester of his/her academic career, the award will be pro-rated to reflect the reduction in hours.

Description: This scholarship is open to U.S. students who are rising juniors and seniors at the University of North Florida. Students must be accepted into a program offered by the UNF School of Engineering and must have a UNF or transfer grade point average of 3.0 or higher.

Additional Information: The University of North Florida's School of Engineering is proud to offer this scholarship sponsored by the Northeast Florida Chapter of the Florida Engineering Society. Florida Engineering Society (FES) supports engineering education, advocates licensure, promotes the ethical and competent practice of engineering and enhances the image and well-being of all engineers in the state of Florida. All applicants must demonstrate leadership and participation in a professional society, design competition, or other activities. Preference will be given to active members of the Florida Engineering Society UNF Student Chapter. Scholarship recipients must: maintain a grade point average of 3.0 or higher; remain in good standing as a student; comply with all University regulations, rules, and codes of conduct governing students on campus; and consent to release grades to the Division of Institutional Advancement for the purpose of reporting to the donor.

Award Amount: $1,500 annually. The initial award will be disbursed during the spring term only. Current recipients may apply for renewal and will be given preference pending availability of funding and if the applicant continues to meet all selection criteria and responsibilities. No student will be eligible to receive more than four semesters of scholarship support. The amount of the award will be determined by the fund manager, but it cannot exceed the maximum cost of tuition, books, campus housing, meal plan, transportation and miscellaneous expenses, as reflected in the annual "Cost of Education" budget prepared by the UNF Financial Aid Office.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $3,000.

Applications are available online on the University of North Florida (UNF) College of Computing, Engineering & Construction (CCEC) website. As part of the online application, the student must submit short essay answers (300 characters or less) describing his/her career interests, extracurricular activities, and work experience. The scholarship application must be completed online and submitted by the deadline date. Only electronic applications will be considered.
