Number of Awards & Eligibility: The number of awards offered varies annually based on the number of eligible students.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident.
  3. Must be an incoming freshman (under 12 credits of college coursework).
  4. Must have a cumulative high school grade point average of 2.5 or higher on a non-weighted 4.0 scale.
  5. Must not be a resident of Louisiana.
  6. Must be admitted to the University of Louisiana at Lafayette.
  7. Must have an ACT composite score of 23 or higher OR an SAT composite score of 1050 or higher.
  8. Must attend a college or university in Louisiana.

Description: This award is available to U.S. students who have been admitted to the University of Louisiana at Lafayette as incoming freshmen (12 or fewer college credits) and are not residents of Louisiana. The student must have a grade point average of 2.5 or higher and an ACT composite of 23 or higher or an SAT composite score of 1050 or higher.

Application requirements for the University of Louisiana at Lafayette Incoming Freshmen Out-of-State Scholarship are:

  • Application form
  • Official Transcript
  • ACT/SAT scores
Additional Information: Students must meet the following sub-test scores: a score of 18 or higher on the English section of the ACT, or a score of 450 or higher on the verbal/critical reading section of the SAT; and a score of 19 or higher on the math section of the ACT, or a score of 460 or higher on the math section of the SAT.

Award Amount: This award is in the form of an exemption from the out-of-state portion of tuition. The award is currently valued at $6,864 per semester, ten semesters.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $68,640.

Scholarship information is available online on the University of Louisiana at Lafayette (ULL) website by clicking on the "Out-of-State Students" link, then clicking on the "Incoming Freshmen" link. Students must complete a scholarship application (available on the ULL website) to be considered for this program. In addition to the scholarship application, the student must submit a current high school transcript and a copy of his/her ACT/SAT scores. Please note: Students must have applied and been admitted to ULL prior to submitting the scholarshp application. Admissions information for ULL is available online at www.louisiana.edu/admissions/first-time-freshmen. The scholarship application must be mailed to the address provided. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis. Please note: The deadline for additional offers to students with exceptionally high test scores is Jan. 31.
