Number of Awards & Eligibility: The number of awards offered varies annually based on the number of qualified applicants.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must attend or plan to attend a fully accredited college or university in Georgia.
  3. Must be a resident of Georgia.
  4. Must be a U.S. citizen.
  5. Must plan to major in education.
  6. Must be a graduating high school senior.
  7. Must attend a Georgia high school.

In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

Description: This scholarship is available for high school seniors who are majoring in education. Students must be residents of, attend high school in, and attend college in Georgia.

Application requirements for the GAE High School Senior Scholarship for Future Teachers are:

  • Essay
  • Recommendation letter
  • Application form
  • Official Transcript
Additional Information: Scholarship winners will be notified in May. Scholarship award winners must accept their award and enroll in a college or university by Dec. 31, following application, or the winner will forfeit his/her scholarship award. Members or relatives of the Georgia Association of Educators Foundation board of directors are not eligible to receive scholarships or grants awarded by the Georgia Association of Educators Foundation.

Award Amount: $1,000 annually, non-renewable. Scholarship awards will be paid directly to the college or university the winner is attending. Proof of enrollment will be required prior to scholarship award payment.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $1,000.

The application and all supporting materials must be submitted as one package to the address provided, postmarked on or before the deadline date. Applications open in October annually.
