Number of Awards & Eligibility: Approximately 40 awards offered annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident.
  3. Must be a graduating high school senior.
  4. Must plan to attend the Georgia Institute of Technology (Georgia Tech).
  5. Semi-finalists typically have earned top grades in the most challenging courses offered at their high schools, have SAT scores ranging from 1440 to 1560 for the middle 50 percent, and have demonstrated outstanding personal achievements and leadership outside the classroom in a variety of activities.
  6. Must attend a college or university in Georgia.

In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

Description: U.S. high school seniors who have earned top grades and high ACT/SAT scores will be considered for this award upon admission to Georgia Tech.

Application requirements for the Georgia Tech President’s Scholarship are:

  • Application form
  • Official Transcript
  • SAT/ACT scores
Additional Information: SAT or ACT scores from the November test will be considered if Georgia Tech is designated as an immediate recipient of the scores. The last three classes of President's Scholars demonstrated combined SAT scores of 2140 to 2310 for the middle 50 percent; however, some exceptional President's Scholars are selected with scores in the 1800s and 1900s.

Award Amount: The award provides for between $5,400 and $72,000 annually and funds may include tuition, fees, room, board, books, and a computer stipend. The level offered depends on a student's final ranking in the President's Scholarship competition. President's Scholars may apply for additional funds to study abroad. Awards are renewable for a total of four academic years (eight semesters) or until the completion of the first undergraduate degree, as long as students meet the requirements.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $152,000.

Applications for admission are available online from the Georgia Tech website. There is not a separate application for this award. A student will initially be considered upon admission. In addition to the completed application, the student must submit transcripts, SAT/ACT scores and a personal statement. The student should view the application for detailed instructions. Applications and supporting materials must be submitted by the deadline.
