Number of Awards & Eligibility: Four awards are offered annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must be accepted to the University of Georgia.
  3. Must be enrolled in a public/private high school one of the following Florida counties: Baker, Clay, Duval, Nassau, or St. Johns.
  4. Must be a U.S. citizen.
  5. Must plan to enroll full time.
  6. Must be a resident of Camden County in Georgia OR one of the following counties in Florida: Baker, Clay, Duval, Nassau, or St. Johns.
  7. Must be a high school senior at time of application.

In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

Description: To be eligible, high school seniors must be residents of one of the following counties: Baker, Clay, Duval, Nassau, or St. Johns counties in FL OR Camden County, Georgia. Students must attend high school in Baker, Clay, Duval, Nassau or St. John's counties in Florida and plan to enroll full time at the University of Georgia.

Application requirements for the Vince Dooley Scholarship are:

  • Interview (if selected as finalist)
Additional Information: This scholarship was established in 1988 to honor Coach Vince Dooley's 25th year at the University of Georgia. Scholarship finalists will be required to attend a selection interview conducted by the scholarship committee. Recipient announcements will be made by April 30 or earlier.

Award Amount: $3,000 annually, renewable for three additional years provided the student maintains accepted academic criteria.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $12,000.

Applications are available by contacting participating high schools in Jacksonville, FL (and the surrounding area) or by emailing Mary Daniel using the email address provided. In addition to the completed application, each student must submit an official high school transcript (grades nine through twelve), a listing of honors and awards received, a statement of his/her academic goals, a statement addressing his/her career goals, and three letters of recommendation (one must be from a teacher, counselor or principal). If the applicant wishes financial need to be considered, he/she should attach a copy of his/her most recent Form 1040. Completed applications and supporting materials must be submitted to the Georgia Bulldog Club of Jacksonville by the deadline date.
