The Education Matters Scholarship is open to any applicant who is 13 years of age or older and is a legal resident of the 50 United States or the District of Columbia. The scholarship committee will select the winner based on the creativity and originality of the submitted written response to the scholarship question each year.

This award is for international and U.S. college juniors and graduate students who are pursuing a degree in occupational safety and health or a closely related field. Priority will be given to students attending college in Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, South Dakota, Wisconsin, and the country of Egypt.
