Number of Awards & Eligibility: One award offered annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for international and U.S. students.
  2. Must attend or plan to attend a four-year college or university.
  3. Must possess an active technician class or higher amateur radio license.
  4. Must reside in Louisiana OR attend college/university in Louisiana.
  5. Must have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher.

Description: This scholarship is open to international and U.S. students who are licensed radio amateurs (technician class or higher) and reside in Louisiana or attend college in Louisiana. Students must have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher.

Additional Information: The Louisiana Memorial Scholarship is available for students who reside in or attend school in Louisiana. To be eligible, students must have an active amateur radio license of technician class or higher and must be pursuing a course of study in international studies. Additional preference will be given to student members of ARRL and applicants who demonstrate the highest levels of academic excellence. Recipients are typically notified by mid-May by USPS mail and email.

Award Amount: $750 annually, non-renewable.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $750.

Applications are available on the American Radio Relay League (ARRL) Foundation website. Applications must be completed online. Students need only submit one application for all scholarships for which they are eligible. The student must provide contact information for one educational reference, one character reference, and one social reference on the online application. The student must also submit a copy of his/her academic transcript from his/her most recently completed school year to the email address provided. The transcript must be scanned and submitted as a PDF.
