Number of Awards & Eligibility: Approximately 50 to 100 awards offered annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must have been a Minnesota resident for six months or more prior to entering active duty and be a current resident at time of application.
  3. Must attend a Minnesota public or private college or university.
  4. Must be a veteran.
  5. Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident.
  6. Must be a high school graduate or older to apply for this undergraduate and graduate award.

In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

Description: This scholarship is available to Minnesota military veterans to use at any Minnesota college or university. The award may be used for any level of postsecondary education.

Application requirements for the Minnesota Veteran Education Benefit Program are:

  • Application form
  • Driver's license
  • DD Form 214
Additional Information: For veterans to qualify, they must be a veteran as defined by Minnesota Statute 197,447, and they must have exhausted through use all of their federal veteran education benefits.

Award Amount: $750 annually, non-renewable. This one-time stipend must be used only for tuition and is paid directly to the recipient's institution.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $750.
