Number of Awards & Eligibility: One award offered annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. Must be a licensed radio amateur (any class).
  2. Must major in electronics, communications, or related field of study.
  3. Must attend a college/university located in the ARRL Midwest Division area (IA, KS, MO, NE).
  4. Must be a resident of the ARRL Midwest Division area (IA, KS, MO, NE).
  5. This award is for international and U.S. students.
  6. Must be pursuing a bachelor's degree or higher.

In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

Description: This award is offered to a licensed radio amateur (any class) who is majoring in electronics, communications, or a related field of study. The applicant must be a resident of and attending college/university in Iowa, Missouri, Nebraska, or Kansas to be eligible for this award.

Additional Information: The Paul and Helen L. Grauer Scholarship is available for students with an active amateur radio license who are residing in the ARRL Midwest Division (IA, KS, MO, NE). Applicants must be pursuing a bachelor's or graduate degree in electronics, communications, or related field. Recipients are typically notified by mid-May by USPS mail and email.

Award Amount: $1,000 annually, non-renewable.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $1,000.

Applications are available on the American Radio Relay League (ARRL) Foundation website. Applications must be completed online. Students need only submit one application for all scholarships for which they are eligible. The student must provide contact information for one educational reference, one character reference, and one social reference on the online application. The student must also submit a copy of his/her academic transcript from his/her most recently completed school year to the email address provided. The transcript must be scanned and submitted as a PDF. Applications must be submitted online by 11:59 p.m. EST on December 31. Transcripts must be received by January 13.
