Number of Awards & Eligibility: The number of awards offered varies annually. Last year, 40 awards were given.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident.
  3. Must be a current undergraduate student who has completed one or more semesters of undergraduate coursework.
  4. Must have a grade point average of 2.5 or higher.
  5. Must be a legal resident of New Mexico for one or more years.
  6. Must demonstrate financial need.
  7. Must enroll full time.

In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

Description: New Mexico undergraduate students who have completed one or more semester of school and have a grade point average of 2.5 or higher and demonstrate financial need are eligible for this award.

Additional Information: Applicants must demonstrate a ‘gap’ of financial need between comprehensive costs of the college or university they will attend & the personal financial commitment & financial aid awards. The ‘gap’ is based on the information received through this application, the college/university, and the Student Aid Report.

Award Amount: $500 to $2,000 annually, renewable upon re-application.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $1,250.

Applications are available online from the Albuquerque Community Foundation website. In addition to the completed application, the student must submit his/her financial aid award letter, SAR, resume, personal statement, official transcript, one recommendation letter, and a statement of college/university budget (costs) on which aid is based, The applicant's name must be on every page of the application. Applications must be submitted by 4 p.m. MDT on the deadline date.
