Number of Awards & Eligibility: One award offered annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must be a U.S. citizen, national, or permanent resident.
  3. Must be a New York State resident.
  4. Must be a senior in high school at the time of application.
  5. Must plan to enroll in a two- or four-year college or university located in New York State.
  6. Must have a grade point average of 2.8 or higher on a 4.0 scale.
  7. Must have demonstrated intent to major in hospitality and tourism management.

Description: This scholarship is open to U.S. high school seniors who reside and plan to attend a college/university in New York state. Students must have a grade point average of 2.8 or higher and plan to major in hospitality and tourism management.

Application requirements for the NYSBWA College Scholarship are:

Additional Information: The winner will be contacted by email and/or phone in July. The winner must accept the scholarship at the wholesale member site closest to their home, where they will be photographed with the wholesale member company owner and local elected officials.

Award Amount: $1,000 annually, non-renewable.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $1,000.

Applications are available online on the New York State Beer Wholesalers Association (NYSBWA) website. Please note: Applications are accepted beginning Feb. 1. In addition to a completed application, each student must submit the following materials: a copy of his/her official test (SAT/ACT) scores as soon as available; and a personal essay of no more than two pages single-spaced describing why he/she chose hospitality and tourism management as his/her major. Applications may be submitted by mail or email. Applications will not be accepted after June 1.
