Number of Awards & Eligibility: One award offered annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. Must be a current or former member of the 4-H Club.
  2. This award is for U.S. students.
  3. Must be a resident of McHenry, Cass, Dunn, Stark, Mercer or Ward county in North Dakota.
  4. Must be currently enrolled or planning to enroll in an accredited technical school, college, or university.
  5. Must be enrolled in or planning to enroll in an accredited educational institution in North Dakota.
  6. Must be a resident of North Dakota.

In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

Description: This scholarship is available to students who are members of a 4-H Club and residents of McHenry, Cass, Dunn, Stark, Mercer and Ward counties in North Dakota. Applicants must be currently enrolled in or planning to enroll in an accredited college or university at the time of application.

Additional Information: The Steve E. & Mary M. Tuhy Scholarship is awarded annually to a current or former ND 4-H member who is entering or continuing education at a ND vocational school, technical school, college or university. Preference is given to applicants from McHenry, Cass, Dunn, Stark, Mercer and Ward Counties. A 4-H member who has previously received a scholarship or grant through the ND 4-H Foundation is not eligible for this award.

Award Amount: $500 annually, non-renewable.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $500.

Applications are available on the North Dakota 4-H Foundation website. Students may apply for more than one scholarship using the same application. In addition to a completed application, the applicant must submit a copy of his/her transcript; and an attachment of two pages answering the questions listed on the application. A word processor or computer may be used to complete the application. The student should type or print using black ink. Attachments must be on plain white 8.5-inch by 11-inch paper. Applications must have the signatures of the student's parent and 4-H extension agent to be considered complete. The application is due at the Center for 4-H Youth Development at the address listed on the deadline date.
