In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. Must attend University of Oklahoma College of Music.
  2. This award is for U.S. students.
  3. Must have a grade point average of 3.5 or higher.
  4. Must be majoring in music. Additional preference will be given to students studying piano and/or voice.
  5. Must be an undergraduate student at the time of application.

Description: The Donna Vandiver Knapp Piano & Vocal Music Education Fund provides scholarships for students at the University of Oklahoma College of Music who have a grade point average of 3.5 or higher.

Additional Information: Founded in 1969, the Oklahoma City Community Foundation provides and administers more than 200 scholarships designed to assist local area students with the high and rising costs of a college education. Scholarships will be awarded based on a combination of merit, financial need, and other criteria as it applies to the specific award. The The Donna Vandiver Knapp Piano and Vocal Music Education Fund was created in 2012 to provide scholarship opportunities and financial assistance for Oklahoma students who are majoring in music at the University of Oklahoma. Additional preference will be given to students who are focusing on piano or vocal majors.

Award Amount: $4,000 annually, non-renewable. All funds will be paid directly to The University of Oklahoma College of Music for expenses directly related to tuition, fees, required books, and other academic supplies. Although the award is not automatically renewable, previous recipients may reapply for up to four total years of support.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $4,000.

Applications are available online on the Oklahoma City Community Foundation (OCCF) website. Students must create an account using their email address on the OCCF website to access the online application. All students must then login and complete the General Application. The student should have access to the following information for completion of the General Application: his/her FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) SAR (Student Aid Report) or the first two pages of his/her household's most recent IRS 1040 tax form; contact information for the individual who can submit an official transcript on his/her behalf; a list of extracurricular activities, community service, honors, awards, leadership, and employment history (including dates and descriptions); and contact information for the person(s) who will write letters of recommendation for him/her (one required for the General Application). After completion of the General Application, the student may then apply for all scholarships for which he/she is eligible. All application materials must be submitted by the deadline date.
