Number of Awards & Eligibility: The number of awards offered varies annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for international and U.S. students.
  2. Must be an undergraduate or graduate student.
  3. Must attend the University of Central Oklahoma (UCO).
  4. Must be enrolled in or pursuing a degree from the UCO College of Education and Professional Studies.
  5. Must be enrolled full time.

Description: This scholarship is open to students who are enrolled in or pursuing a degree from the University of Central Oklahoma’s College of Education and Professional Studies. Students must be enrolled full time.

Application requirements for the Geneva Johnston Hudson Scholarship Fund are:

Additional Information: The Geneva Johnston Hudson Scholarship fund is established to encourage students that meet the guidelines of the Kappa Kappa Iota Chapter Organization and plan to pursue education degree programs at the University of Central Oklahoma. This is an endowed scholarship fund of the Oklahoma City Community Foundation.

Award Amount: $1,000 annually, non-renewable. Funds may be used for tuition, fees and book expenses at the University of Central Oklahoma. Payments are made directly to the school.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $1,000.

Applications are available online on the Oklahoma City Community Foundation (OCCF) website. Students must create an account using their email address on the OCCF website to access the online application. All students must then login and complete the General Application. The student should have access to the following information for completion of the General Application: his/her FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) SAR (Student Aid Report) or the first two pages of his/her household's most recent IRS 1040 tax form; contact information for the individual who can submit an official transcript on his/her behalf; a list of extracurricular activities, community service, honors, awards, leadership, and employment history (including dates and descriptions); and contact information for the person(s) who will write letters of recommendation for him/her (one required for the General Application). After completion of the General Application, the student may then apply for all scholarships for which he/she is eligible. Please note that this scholarship requires the following supplemental materials: a description of his/her personal educational plan (limited to 500 words); and an endorsement from the local Kappa Kappa Iota President, Campus Kappa Kappa Iota Sponsor, or State Scholarship Chair. Further instructions for obtaining the endorsement are listed on the application. All application materials must be submitted by the deadline date.
