Number of Awards & Eligibility: Varies.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident.
  3. Must be an incoming freshman, transfer, or graduate/law student, OR a currently enrolled undergraduate or graduate/law student.
  4. Must plan to enroll full time.
  5. Must currently attend or plan to attend the University of Oregon.
  6. Must have a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or higher.
  7. Preference is given to Oregon residents.
  8. Must attend a college or university in Oregon.

Description: This scholarship is open to U.S. students who are current or incoming undergraduate, graduate, or law students at the University of Oregon. Students must have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher and file a FAFSA.

Application requirements for the University of Oregon Diversity Excellence Scholarship are:

Additional Information: The Diversity Excellence Scholarship (DES) recognizes the academic achievement and potential of students who, through sharing their varied cultural perspectives, will enhance the education of all UO students and the excellence of the University. The University of Oregon offers these tuition-remission scholarships as part of its diversity mission. Selection of recipients is based on the following criteria: past academic performance and participation in campus or community activities. Preference will be given to: students from underrepresented racial/ethnic minorities; students with financial need as defined by federal guidelines; first generation of the family to attend college; Oregon residents. Recipients will be notified by April 15. Please note: This award cannot be combined with some tuition-remission programs such as University of Oregon staff tuition rates or Graduate Teaching Fellowships.

Award Amount: Annual award amounts are $6,500 for undergraduate students and $9,000 for graduate students. The scholarship is renewable with the length of eligibility based on the recipient's grade level at the time of awarding. The DES cannot be combined with some tuition-remission programs such as the Presidential Scholarship, University of Oregon staff tuition rates or Graduate Teaching Fellowships.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $15,500.
