The Korean American Scholarship Foundation (KASF) – Eastern Regional Chapter (ERC) is pleased to announce a scholarship program in honor and recognition of 1.6 million American Veterans who served in the Korean War during the Korean War era (June 25, 1950–January 31, 1955). These men and women answered the call to fight for a country and people they never knew and never met. More than 54,000 Americans died and 103,000 were wounded.
To express our gratitude to these veterans for their sacrifices, KASF-ERC will offer their descendants an opportunity to apply for a scholarship. KASF-ERC scholarship program will recognize outstanding students who have demonstrated outstanding talents and potential for success. Awardees will receive a check of $2,000 scholarships from KASF and be able to attend the KASF-ERC Award Ceremony & Banquet in Vienna, VA.
This award is for Pennsylvania undergraduate students who are planning to attend an eligible college or university in Pennsylvania or eligible colleges with reciprocal agreements with Pennsylvania. Students must demonstrate financial need and have an EFC of $5,081 or lower, as determined by completing the FAFSA.
This scholarship is open to U.S. female college juniors who graduated from one of the public high schools in Berks County, Penn., and currently attend certain postsecondary institutions in Berks County. Students must be pursuing a degree in elementary or secondary education and have a grade point average of 3.5 or higher.
This scholarship is open to U.S. high school seniors who attend a public high school in Berks County, Pennsylvania and plan to major in elementary or secondary education with the intent of becoming a school teacher. Students must have a grade point average of 3.5 or higher (or 90 percent or higher).
U.S. women who have earned 60 or more credit hours toward a bachelor’s degree with a 3.4 grade point average are eligible for this award. Students must be residents of Dauphin, Cumberland, or Perry counties in Pennsylvania and must attend a Pennsylvania institution.
U.S. undergraduate students who are enrolled in a hospitality management program and have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher are eligible for this award. Applicants must attend and be nominated by an American Hotel and Lodging Association (AH&LA) member school.
The WWOAP Scholarship Committee annually awards scholarship money to any WWOAP member in good standing, to his or her dependent, or to a deserving student. A $1,500 scholarship is awarded to a student enrolled at a university or college; a $500 scholarship is awarded to a student enrolled in a technical school.*
