Number of Awards & Eligibility: The number of awards offered varies annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must attend a public institution in Texas which has reciprocal agreement with a similar institution in the student's home state.
  3. Must be a resident of a county or parish in Arkansas, Louisiana, New Mexico, or Oklahoma that is adjacent to Texas.
  4. Must be a U.S. citizen or eligible non-citizen.
  5. Must be a high school senior or current undergraduate or graduate student.

In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

Description: This program provides a waiver of nonresident tuition to individuals who are residents of a county or parish of Arkansas, Louisiana, New Mexico, or Oklahoma that is adjacent to Texas. Students must enroll in an eligible Texas institution.

Additional Information: This program was established to provide a waiver of non-resident tuition to individuals who are residents of a county or parish of Arkansas, Louisiana, New Mexico or Oklahoma that is adjacent to Texas to enroll in public institutions in Texas while paying a reduced tuition rate, based on the rate charged Texas students at similar institutions in their state. This program is limited to public colleges and universities only. The college or university must have a reciprocal agreement with a similar institution in the student's home state, to allow Texas residents attending the other state's institution to pay a reduced tuition rate, also.
