Number of Awards & Eligibility: The number of awards offered varies annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident.
  3. Must have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher.
  4. Must NOT be a resident of Nebraska.
  5. Must plan to transfer to the University of Nebraska at Lincoln.
  6. Must have earned 14 or more credit hours upon application to the university.

In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

Description: Out-of-state college freshmen or older students who plan to attend the University of Nebraska at Lincoln are eligible for this award. Students must have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher.

Application requirements for the University of Nebraska-Lincoln Aaron Douglas Scholarship are:

Additional Information: UNL will not revise scholarships based on college work in progress that is completed after these dates.

Award Amount: $4,000 annually, renewable for two additional years. The length of scholarship depends on the amount of credits earned at the time of admission. For students starting UNL with 14-52 credit hours, the scholarship is renewable for three years and two inclusive summers. For students starting UNL with 53-89 credit hours, the scholarship is renewable for two years and one inclusive summer.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $16,000.

There is not a separate application for this award. The applicant will be considered upon admission to the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. In addition to the completed admissions application, the student must submit college transcripts by the relevant enrollment deposit deadline (Dec. 1 for spring or May 1 for fall).
