Number of Awards & Eligibility: One award offered annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher.
  3. Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident.
  4. Must be of Polish descent.
  5. Must be a resident of Massachusetts. Please note: Qualified residents of New England will be considered if no students from Massachusetts apply.
  6. Must be engaged in his/her second, third, or fourth year of undergraduate studies during the award year.
  7. Must enroll full time.

In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

Description: This award is for U.S. undergraduate students who are of Polish descent. Students must have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher. First preference is given to residents of Massachusetts.

Additional Information: Selection is based on the following criteria: academic excellence, the applicant's academic achievements, interests, motivation, interest in Polish subjects, and involvement in the Polish American community. Financial need is taken into consideration. Only one member per immediate family may receive a Massachusetts Federation of Polish Women's Clubs Scholarship during any given academic year. Notification of results will be made in writing on or about May 29.

Award Amount: $1,250 annually, non-renewable.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $1,250.

Applications are available online from the Kosciuszko Foundation website. In addition to a completed application, each student must submit the following: a $35 non-refundable application fee; a statement of purpose (discussing his/her academic goals, major, and specialization); a passport-size photo; official transcripts for the last three full years of academic work through summer 2018; two letters of academic reference submitted on letterhead and in sealed envelopes; and proof of Polish ancestry (using birth certificates, passports, naturalization papers and other official documents to show the line of descent from the ancestor who was born in Poland to the student). If documentation is not available, a letter from a prominent member of the community verifying Polish ancestry will be accepted. (Letters from relatives are not accepted.) Application materials should not be stapled. Application packets will not be accepted via fax. Certain components of the application packet must be uploaded to the online application, and some components may be emailed; the student should visit the Kosciuszko Foundation website for more details. The Kosciuszko Foundation cannot confirm receipt of materials by phone. All applications and supporting materials must be received by the deadline date.
