Number of Awards & Eligibility: Two awards offered annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must have an overall grade point average of 3.0 or higher.
  3. Must be a member or have a parent who is a member of a Richmond Chapter Credit Union.
  4. Must be a U.S. citizen.
  5. Must plan to enroll full time.
  6. Must be a resident of Virginia.
  7. Must attend a Virginia college or university.
  8. Must be a high school senior at time of application.

In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

Description: This award is available for U.S. high school seniors who are members of or have a parent who is a member of a Richmond Chapter Credit Union. Students must be a resident of Virginia, plan to attend a Virginia college or university, and have an overall grade point average of 2.8 or higher.

Application requirements for the Richmond Chapter of Credit Unions Scholarship are:

Additional Information: This scholarship program is sponsored by the Richmond Chapter of Credit Unions, which will award scholarships to high school seniors. For these scholarships, either the students or their parents must be members of a Richmond Chapter Credit Union. The applicant must graduate high school in 2018 and begin college by Dec. 31, 2018. The scholarships will be awarded primarily on the basis of merit, not financial need. The applicant must have demonstrated leadership skills and a strong involvement in extracurricular activities and community service organizations. The applicant should have demonstrated outstanding citizenship qualities that show loyalty, trustworthiness, integrity, and a genuine concern for the well being of others.

Award Amount: Up to $1,000 annually, non-renewable.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $1,000.

Applications are available online on the Virginia Credit Union website by searching for scholarships in the upper right hand corner. In addition to a completed application, the applicant must also submit an official transcript, and a 300- to 500-word essay on the topic listed on the application. All application materials must be received online by the deadline.
