Number of Awards & Eligibility: One award offered annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. Must be a high school senior at the time of application.
  2. This award is for U.S. students.
  3. Must be a resident of West Virginia.
  4. Must enroll as a full-time student.
  5. Must have a grade point average of 2.5 or higher.
  6. Must be a graduating senior at Clay County High School, in Clay, West Virginia.
  7. Must be a U.S. citizen.
  8. Must have an ACT score of 20 or higher.

In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

Description: This award is for U.S. students from West Virginia who are high school graduates of Clay County High School. The applicant must have a 2.5 grade point average or higher, an ACT score of 20 or higher to be eligible, and attend college full-time.

Application requirements for the Beatrice Stephenson Lorentz Scholarship Fund are:

  • Recommendation letter
  • Application form
  • Official Transcript
  • Tax return
Additional Information: Students may only receive one scholarship per year from TGKVF. The applicant will be notified by TGKVF by May. The foundation will mail the full amount of the award in August. It is applied to the entire academic year. The check is payable jointly to the recipient and the college, but is mailed directly to the recipient. Any student who withdraws from school for any reason will be expected to notify the foundation of his/her status and refund any unused, refundable portion of the scholarship. In addition to other requirements, the applicant must also demonstrate good moral character and be involved in school and community activities.

Award Amount: $200 annually, non-renewable. This award is to apply to direct college expenses at the institution, such as tuition, fees and books.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $200.
