Number of Awards & Eligibility: Approximately four awards offered annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for international and U.S. students.
  2. Must be African American, Native American, or Hispanic American.
  3. Must attend or enroll in a Historically Black College or University (HBCU).
  4. Must be a full-time student.
  5. Must be a graduating high school senior, a current college or university student, or a transfer student.

Description: HBCUConnect.com encourages minority students from all around the nation to pursue bachelors degrees at U.S. historically black colleges and universities. Applicants must be minority graduating high school seniors, transfer, or full time undergraduate students attending historically black college or university.

Additional Information: HBCUConnect.com wants to encourage minority students from all around the nation to pursue four-year degrees at U.S. historically black colleges and universities. While all candidates who meet the criteria for eligibility may apply, a large majority of the scholarships will be awarded to female and underrepresented minority students. HBCUConnect.com will review all online registrations and select final candidates on the basis of eligibility, quality of content in the online registration, and financial need.

Award Amount: $1,000 annually, non-renewable. The scholarships are made through the designated school and are not transferable to other academic institutions. The funds are to be used for tuition only and may not be used for other costs on the recipient's bursar bill.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $4,000.

To apply, the student must fill out the Historically Black College or University (HBCU) member registration form on HBCUConnect.com. To access HBCUConnect.com, students are required to enter a valid email address. Applicants must submit a short essay of no more than 350 words addressing both topics in the essay prompt. The applicant must also include basic identifying and contact information, which should include the student's email address, campus or current address and phone number, permanent address and phone number, major, and expected graduation date. Essay questions and resumes must be submitted online by the deadline date. Transcripts may be requested from selected finalists.
