Number of Awards & Eligibility: One award offered annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must be a U.S. citizen.
  3. Must have completed enough academic credits to qualify for college junior or senior level status.
  4. Must pursue a bachelors degree in welding engineering or welding engineering technology. Priority will be given to welding engineering students.
  5. Must be 18 years of age or older at time of application.
  6. Must have an overall grade point average of 2.8 or higher with a grade point average of 3.2 or higher in all engineering, scientific and technical subjects.
  7. Priority will be given to those individuals residing or attending school in the states of Wisconsin or Kentucky. (A resident is defined as having lived in the specific area for a minimum of one year.)
  8. Must attend an academic institution in the U.S.

In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

Description: This award is available for U.S. college juniors and seniors who are 18 years of age or older and are pursing a career in welding engineering. Students must have an overall grade point average of 2.8 or higher with a grade point average of 3.2 or higher in all engineering, scientific and technical subjects. Priority will be given to those individuals residing or attending school in the states of Wisconsin or Kentucky. (A resident is defined as having lived in the specific area for a minimum of one year.)

  • Enrollment verification
  • Financial need statement
Additional Information: Financial need is not required to qualify. Please note: The applicant does not have to be a member of the AWS, but it is preferred.

Award Amount: $2,500 annually, non-renewable; however, persons who have received this award may reapply and may be granted the award for a maximum of two years.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $2,500.
