Number of Awards & Eligibility: Approximately seven awards offered annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident.
  3. Must be a new admit to an eligible master's program for fall.
  4. Must have an undergraduate degree in a STEM field AND plan to pursue one of the following Master of Science degrees: engineering, project management, integrated supply chain management.
  5. Must pursue distance education through the University of Wisconsin-Platteville.
  6. Must register as a full-time student (nine credits) during fall and spring semesters. Please note: Students may register as part time, but priority will be given to full-time students.
  7. Must have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher.

In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

Description: This scholarship is open to U.S. students who have been admitted to the University of Wisconsin-Platteville's distance education program to pursue a master's degree in engineering, project management, or integrated supply chain management. Students must have majored in a STEM field as undergraduates, have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher, and demonstrate financial need.

Additional Information: Each applicant must demonstrate financial need. Transfer students will be considered. As a condition of program admittance, recipients will be required to participate in career networking opportunities, participate in professional development opportunities at least once per month, and participate in virtual career fairs as opportunities are presented. Students must also meet regularly with their peer mentor and career champion.

Award Amount: The maximum award allowable is $5,000 per year for $10,000 awarded over the two-year program. The scholarship may be pro-rated for transfer students. Recipients must maintain a grade point average of 3.0 or higher.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $10,000.

Applications are available online on the University of Wisconsin-Platteville Distance Education website. In addition to a completed application, each student must submit the following materials: an essay of 500 to 1,000 words explaining how a master's degree will help him/her achieve his/her career goals; and a copy of his/her SAR (Student Aid Report). The SAR is generated by filing the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid). The FAFSA is available online at www.fafsa.ed.gov. The application and supporting materials must be emailed to Marcia Rako, Outreach Specialist, at [email protected]. The priority application date is May 1.
