Number of Awards & Eligibility: The number of scholarships awarded varies.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. Must be a delaware resident.
  2. Must have autism specturm disorder.
  3. Must have completed high school or earned a GED and possesses the capacity to complete a postsecondary program may apply.
  4. Must also have been accepted into a post-secondary program (such as college, university, community college, trade school, or vocational training or educational program).

Description: The Adults with Autism Scholarship was created to provide financial support for eligible adults with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) who are pursuing a post-secondary education. The number of scholarships available depends upon the amount of funding available and the assessment of the scholarship review committee. $1,000 is awarded.

Application requirements for the Adults with Autism Scholarship are:

Additional Information: Any Delaware resident student with autism spectrum disorder who has completed high school or earned a GED and possesses the capacity to complete a postsecondary program may apply. You must also have been accepted into a post-secondary program (such as college, university, community college, trade school, or vocational training or educational program). To apply, you must write a cover letter describing why you are pursuing post-secondary education and your plans for employment once you complete the program. Along with this, you need to submit a current resume, a transcript or other documentation that indicates graduation from high school or completion of a GED, an explanation of your support system and how it ensures the successful completion of a postsecondary program. Then also, you must submit evidence that you have ASD and a letter of recommendation from a teacher, guidance counselor, or other school official.

Award Amount: Winners can receive awards in up to $1,000.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $1,000.
