Number of Awards & Eligibility: Six awards offered annually. Four awards are offered to theater majors, and two are offered to theater minors or those wishing to pursue theater as an extracurriculur activity.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident.
  3. Must be an incoming freshman.
  4. Must plan to attend Case Western Reserve University.
  5. Must plan to major in theater OR plan to minor in theater OR plan to participate in theater as an extracurricular activity.
  6. Must attend a college or university in Ohio.

In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

Description: This scholarship is open to entering freshmen at Case Western Reserve University who plan to major or minor in theater or pursue theater as an extracurricular activity. Recipients who major in theater will receive a full-tuition scholarship. All applicants must audition or interview to be considered.

Additional Information: Case Western Reserve University has made merit-based scholarships available for prospective theater students. The Department of Theater will make its scholarship award selections in the first week of March. Award selections will be sent to the CWRU Department of Admissions. Awardees, regardless of application submission type, will be notified by CWRU Admissions during the second or third week of March. The CWRU Department of Theater is not authorized to notify awardees. The audition and portfolio application process is for scholarship eligibility only. The only requirement to study theater at CWRU is to be admitted to CWRU.

Award Amount: Scholarships offered to theater majors are for full tuition (room and board not included) annually. Scholarships are renewable for three additional years. To retain the scholarship, the student must declare theater as a major by the end of his/her freshman year, as well as maintain the stipulated grade point average.Scholarships offered to theater minors or those pursuing theater as an extracurricular activity are worth $10,000 annually. Scholarships are renewable for three additional years. To retain the scholarship, students must contribute to theater productions in either a performance or backstage capacity on an annual basis, as well as maintain the stipulated grade point average.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $108,312.
