Number of Awards & Eligibility: Four awards offered annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must be a resident of Clay County, Florida.
  3. Must demonstrate an interest in music.
  4. Must be a student in a Clay County school.
  5. Must be a U.S. citizen.
  6. Must be 19 years of age or younger.
  7. Must be in grades six through twelve.

Description: This award is available for U.S. students in grades six through twelve who are residents of Clay County, Florida and attend a Clay County school. Students must be 19 years of age or younger and demonstrate an interest in music.

Additional Information: Clay County students are encouraged to participate in the annual Concert on the Green Young Artists Scholarship Competition. There are two divisions in this competition: junior, which is grades six through nine, and senior, which is grades nine through twelve (ninth graders may choose between the junior and senior divisions). Instrumentalists must perform a solo piece from a concerto or pops composition, which has symphony orchestration and is consistent with symphony performance. Vocalists must perform two pieces, which have symphony orchestration and are consistent with symphony performance. One piece must be a classical art song or aria in the original language. One selection must be from a Broadway show. Bonus points will be awarded for memorized music and professional applications, which include proper grammar and spelling. The applicant must review the information sheet for the times and locations of the auditions. Each applicant's audition must be accompanied (this includes senior division pianists). The applicant should arrange for an accompanist, or a list of accompanists will be provided for him/her. Accompanist fees are the responsibility of the applicant. If an applicant is selected as one of the winners, he/she must be prepared to perform at the recitals listed on the information sheet. The first-place recipient must also perform during the Concert on the Green. He/she must also be available for at least one rehearsal with the symphony prior to the date of the concert.

Award Amount: $1,000 annually, non-renewable.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $1,000.
