Number of Awards & Eligibility: The number of awards vary.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. Must have a minimum GPA of 2.5.
  2. Must be between the ages of 17 and 26.
  3. Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
  4. Must have a score a minimum of 1000 on the SAT (math/verbal) or 19 on the ACT (excluding the required writing test scores).
  5. Must meet physical standards.
  6. Must agree to accept a commission and serve in the Army on Active Duty or in a Reserve Component (Army Reserve or Army National Guard) Serve full time in the Army for four years.

Description: Nursing students who are also Army ROTC Cadets may benefit from extensive one-on-one mentoring and training. Apart from financial help, you may gain valuable leadership experience and management training that can benefit you in either a private-sector or military nursing career. Nursing students who are also Army ROTC Cadets have an opportunity for a unique summer nursing experience. The paid, three-week Nurse Summer Training Program assigns Cadets to Army hospitals throughout the U.S. and Germany. The nursing program also introduces you to the Army Medical Department (AMEDD) and to the roles and duties of an Army Nurse Corps Officer. Under the supervision of an experienced Army Nurse Corps Officer, you will obtain hands-on experience. Your one-on-one clinical experience will allow you to hone your clinical skills, develop your problem-solving techniques and become comfortable with developing your professional skills as a member of the U.S. Army Healthcare Team.

Additional Information: The three-year scholarship is available for students already enrolled in a college or university with three academic years remaining. To be eligible you need to: • Be a U.S. citizen between the ages of 17 and 26 • Have a high school GPA of at least 2.50 • Have a high school diploma or equivalent • Score a minimum of 1000 on the SAT (math/verbal) or 19 on the ACT (excluding the required writing test scores) • Meet physical standards • Agree to accept a commission and serve in the Army on Active Duty or in a Reserve Component (Army Reserve or Army National Guard) Serve full time in the Army for four years • Selected Cadets may choose to serve part time in the Army Reserve or Army National Guard while pursuing a civilian career

Award Amount: Full tuition and fees, include a separate allowance for books, and a monthly stipend of up to $5,000 a year.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $5,000.
