Number of Awards & Eligibility: One award offered annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must be an Air Force active duty, full time Air National Guard, or Air Force Reserve officer or enlisted soldier.
  3. Must have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher.
  4. Must be a U.S. citizen.
  5. Must be pursuing a master's degree in a non-technical field of study.

In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

Description: This scholarship award is for any active duty Air Force, full-time Air National Guard, or Air Force Reserve officer or enlisted person pursuing a master's degree in a non-technical field of study.

Additional Information: This scholarship is in memory of Captain Jodi Callahan who was an AFA Under-Forty National Director and a trustee of the Aerospace Education Foundation. This scholarship is made possible through contributions to the Jodi Callahan Memorial Fund by her family and friends.

Award Amount: $1,000 annually, non-renewable.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $1,000.

Applications are available online from the Air Force Association (AFA) website by clicking on the 'Awards, Scholarships, and Grants' link, and then clicking on the 'Scholarship Opportunities' link. All applications and supporting materials must be submitted online through the online application portal. The applicant must submit the following with the application: an image or scan of an original or copy of his/her most recent college/university transcript or a report card from his/her last semester verifying grade point average; proof of acceptance/registration into a regionally-accredited community college, college or university; a two-page, double-spaced essay describing his/her academic and career goals, the motivation which led him/her to this decision, and how Air Force and other local community activities in which he/she was involved in will enhance his/her goals; a photo of the applicant (preferably a head shot); and two letters of recommendation. A letter of endorsement from the local AFA Chapter would be welcomed and encouraged. Application and materials must be received by the deadline date. It is recommended that students submit applications as early as possible, however. the deadline date.
