Most students know that they must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) to find out their Expected Family Contribution (EFC). The EFC is a relative measurement of the student's ability to pay for school, and this number is often used to determine the amount of federal and state assistance available. This is a good start, but the true Cost of Attendance (COA) is often different than the sticker price. Most students have expenses beyond tuition, including room and board, books, and other costs. Before turning to student loans, students with financial need can look for scholarships to help close the gap between their EFC and COA. Ada Leigh Soles Memorial Professional Librarian & Archivist Incentive Program-Bach./Doctoral Degree

This forgivable loan program is available to Delaware residents pursuing a bachelor's or doctoral degree program. Students must have worked at least two years at a Delaware public library, county department library, public school library, or state agency library or archive.

Delaware Speech-Language Pathologist Incentive Program

This award is available to Delaware students who are enrolled full time in a graduate program leading to a speech-language pathologist license. Recipients must seek employment as a licensed speech pathologist in a Delaware public school or a contracted provider of a Birth to 3 Early Intervention System program serving infants and toddlers for loan forgiveness.

Trythall Family Scholarship for Excellence in Continuing Education

This award is available for U.S. undergraduate or graduate part-time students who are residents of Albuquerque, New Mexico and plan to attend an accredited postsecondary, not-for-profit educational institution in New Mexico. Students must be 21 years of age or older, work 20 hours per week or more, and have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher.

Rae Lee Siporin Scholarship for Women

New Mexico college seniors who plan to return to a New Mexico college or university full time to finish their first undergraduate degree are eligible for this award. Students must demonstrate financial need.

Levin-Goffe Scholarship

This scholarship is for LGBTQI students who are not citizens nor permanent residents of the United States and who reside and attend school in New York City. Students must have a grade point average of 3.25 or higher, and must have completed at least one full academic year.

Basil L. King Scholarship Fund - Medical and Dental Scholarship

Residents of St. Lucie County in Florida who have been accepted to or are enrolled in an accredited school of medicine or dentistry are eligible for this award. Students must enroll full time and have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher.

Basil L. King Scholarship Fund - Two- and Four-Year Award

Residents of St. Lucie County in Florida who are high school seniors or current undergraduate students with a grade point average of 3.0 or higher are eligible for this award. Students must enroll full time in a health science program.

Truckload Carriers Association Scholarship

A scholarship from the Truckload Carriers Association will be awarded to any undergraduate in good standing, who is the child, grandchild, or spouse of an employee or an employee of a TCA member, or the child, grandchild or spouse of an independent contractor or an independent contractor affiliated with a TCA member. Students must have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher.

NHCF Medallion Fund

This award is available for New Hampshire students who are 17 to 23 years of age and demonstrate financial need. Students must have completed high school or earned a GED and plan to attend a two-year or other short-term training program.

Roger R. Berube Annual Scholarship Fund

This scholarship is for U.S. students who live in one of the following Maine areas: Lisbon, Lewiston, Wales, and Greene. Students must be currently assisted by the Lewiston Housing Authority, either as public housing residents or Section Eight certificate or voucher holders.

This award is available for undergraduate members of Kappa Delta Rho. Applicants must have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher and have attained at least sophomore class standing.

Commerford B. Martin Engineering Scholarship

This award is available for unmarried undergraduate members of the Kappa Delta Rho Fraternity who are majoring in engineering. Applicants must have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher and must be finishing their sophomore or junior year before August of the award year.
