In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must be ranked in the top 15 percent of his/her high school class.
  3. Must be the dependent of an Association of Flight Attendants member.
  4. Must be a U.S. citizen.
  5. Must have, or expect to have, excellent SAT or ACT scores.
  6. Must be a graduating high school senior at time of application.

Description: This award is for U.S. high school seniors who are dependents of an Association of Flight Attendants member. Students must rank in the top 15 percent of their class, and must have or expect to have excellent SAT and ACT scores.

Additional Information: The Association of Flight Attendants Scholarship Fund is intended to provide financial assistance to dependents of AFA members who will be attending a college or university. The scholarship is managed and distributed through the Association of Flight Attendants Scholarship Fund Committee. AFA is the largest union in the United States representing flight attendants. Applicants must be able to demonstrate financial need.

Award Amount: This scholarship will cover the cost of tuition, room, board and reasonable book expenses, or up to a maximum of $5,000 annually. The recipient may reapply for this scholarship each year until graduation up to a maximum of four years. The scholarship is sent directly to the recipient's college or university upon verification of enrollment in a degree program. The college or university must send invoices to AFA, which will then be paid by the Association of Flight Attendants Scholarship Fund. No funds shall be distributed directly to the recipient.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $5,000.
