Number of Awards & Eligibility: Up to 10 awards offered annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must be a U.S. citizen.
  3. Must plan to enroll in an ABET-accredited or substantially equivalent mechanical engineering or mechanical engineering technology program. Please note: Questions about whether a given program has received acceptable accreditation may be answered by the college or university, or by checking listings on the ABET website (www.abet.org) or, for non-listed programs, contacting ASME.
  4. Must enroll full time by the fall after his/her high school graduation.
  5. Must be a high school senior who is active on a FIRST FTC or FRC team at time of application.

In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

Description: U.S. high school seniors planning to enroll full time in an accredited mechanical engineering program are eligible for this award. Applicants must be nominated for this award.

  • ASME membership
Additional Information: Members of ASME, including ASME Auxiliary members and student members, may nominate no more than one student each. Each applicant must be an active FIRST team member. The winners will be announced via an email to all applicants by April 15.

Award Amount: $5,000 annually, non-renewable.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $50,000.
