Number of Awards & Eligibility: The number of awards offered each year may vary depending on the number of eligible students and the amount of funds available.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must be a resident of Connecticut.
  3. Must be a U.S. citizen.
  4. Must be enrolled in an undergraduate associate’s or bachelor’s degree program.
  5. Must attend an eligible independent college or university in Connecticut.
  6. Must demonstrate substantial financial need, as determined from information provided on the FAFSA.
  7. Must be enrolled at least part-time.

Additional Information: The Connecticut Independent College Student Grant Program (CICSG) is a state program established to provide grants to state residents enrolled as full-time or part-time matriculated students in undergraduate degree-granting programs at independent colleges and universities in Connecticut. Eligible students demonstrate substantial financial need, as determined by the federal need analysis formula. Recipients must exhibit some level of financial need and are selected according to each institution's own financial aid packaging policy. For additional information, contact the institution’s financial aid office of one of the eligible institutions the student is planning to attend.

Award Amount: Up to $7,875 annually, and cannot exceed the student's calculated financial need, as determined by the federal need analysis formula. Awards are offered on an annual basis an may be renewable. Students must file a FAFSA each academic year and continue to demonstrate financial need.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $3,825.
