Number of Awards & Eligibility: The number of awards provided varies annually depending on the number of admitted undergraduate students who demonstrate unmet financial need. Last year, about 6,400 need-based grants were awarded.

Additional Information: All students who are accepted to Cornell University as an undergraduate will be considered for financial aid grants totalling the applicant's amount of unmet financial need. Students may also be eligible for additional aid through work study and subsidized loans that supplement cost of living and additional educational opportunities. Students who are residents of New York State are further encouraged to complete all state-based financial aid applications to maximize the amount of funding available.

Award Amount: The amount of each grant will depend on the applicant's unmet financial need. In the prior academic year, the average need-based grants provided $46,339 in financial aid per year. All awards are renewable for up to four years of undergraduate study.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $46,339.

Students may apply for admissions at Cornell University through the Common Application or the Universal College Application. All applicants must complete all supplemental sections marked for Cornell University. Applications for Early Decision must be received no later than November 1, and students applying by early decision must also complete all financial aid applications and forms by November 21. Students applying by Regular Decision must submit all required application materials no later than January 2, and all financial aid documentation no later than February 15. Late and incomplete applications will not be considered.
