Number of Awards & Eligibility: Two awards offered annually.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must pursue a career in occupational therapy.
  3. Must be a member of the American Occupational Therapy Association.
  4. Must be a member of the District of Columbia Occupational Therapy Association.
  5. Must enroll full time at an accredited college or university.
  6. Must be a U.S. citizen.
  7. Must attend Howard University in Washington, D.C.
  8. Must be a graduate student.
  9. Must be a resident of Washington, D.C., Maryland, or northern Virginia.

In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

Description: This award is available for U.S. graduate students who are residents of Washington, D.C., Maryland, or northern Virginia and who are currently attending Howard University in Washington, D.C. Students must be members of both the District of Columbia Occupational Therapy Association and the American Occupational Therapy Association and be pursuing a career in occupational therapy.

Application requirements for the District of Columbia Occupational Therapy Association Scholarship are:

  • Application form
  • Reference forms
Additional Information: Applicants must demonstrate a need for financial assistance and have a sustained record of outstanding scholastic achievement. Students will be considered for all scholarships for which they qualify, but may receive only one scholarship per year. Post-baccalaureate graduate degrees require a dissertation, thesis, special project, or research component. Winners will be notified by April.

Award Amount: $500 annually, non-renewable.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $500.
