Number of Awards & Eligibility: The number of awards offered varies annually. In 2014, there were 1,900 new scholarships awarded.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for U.S. students.
  2. Must be a U.S. citizen or eligible non-citizen.
  3. Must plan to enroll or be currently enrolled in an eligible community college.
  4. Must reside in a qualifying North Carolina county. A list of eligible counties is available on the Golden LEAF website.
  5. Must attend a participating North Carolina community college. A list of participating institutions is available on the Golden LEAF website.

In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

Description: This scholarship is open to students who plan to attend or are currently attending a participating North Carolina community college and reside in a qualifying North Carolina county. Students must demonstrate financial need.

Additional Information: All applicants for this award must demonstrate financial need.

Award Amount: Up to $750 per semester, including summer term, is available for curriculum students and up to $250 per semester for students enrolling in occupational programs. Awards can be applied toward tuition, fees, books, supplies at the community college where enrolled, transportation, child care expenses related to attending classes, and mid-skills credential testing upon course completion.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $789.
