Number of Awards & Eligibility: The number of awards offered varies annually based upon the number of qualified applicants and the amount of funds available. Last year, two awards were offered.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for international and U.S. students.
  2. Must be a resident of Oregon OR Clark County, WA.
  3. Must be gay, lesbian, bisexual or transgender (GLBT), OR the child of a GLBT parent.
  4. Must be accepted for enrollment in an educational program beyond the secondary level at a community college, college, university or other accredited technical school or institution which has an established non-discrimination policy that includes sexual and gender minority groups.
  5. Must be pursuing an education in the arts.

In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

Description: This award is for students who are gay, lesbian, bisexual or transgender (GLBT), or students who are children of GLBT parents. The student must be a resident of Oregon or Clark County, Washington and must be accepted to a postsecondary program in the arts.

Application requirements for the Gregori Jakovina Endowment Scholarship are:

  • Interview
  • Recommendation letter

  • Personal statement
  • Official Transcript
  • Letter of Interest
Additional Information: Students must be in demonstrated need of financial assistance to attain an educational goal, and evidence the potential to successfully complete their chosen program of study. A scholarship committee composed of individuals with expertise in a relevant field and a concern for advancing educational opportunities will be responsible for reviewing applications. Scholarship recipients will be chosen on the basis of the application and supporting materials (and personal interview, if deemed necessary). Employees or board members of Equity Foundation, or immediate relatives of the scholarship fund founders or the scholarship review committee, are not eligible to apply.

Award Amount: The amount of the award varies annually based upon available funds. Last year, the average award was $500 annually, non-renewable.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $1,000.
