Number of Awards & Eligibility: The number of awards offered varies annually and is dependent on funding.
In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. This award is for international and U.S. students.
  2. Must be a legal resident of California.
  3. Must attend a California institution.
  4. Must be a high school senior or older to apply for this undergraduate award.
  5. Must be accepted or enrolled in a licensed vocational nursing (LVN) to associate degree nursing (ADN) program.
  6. Must have a grade point average of 2.0 or higher.

In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

Description: This award is available for California residents who are attending or planning to attend a licensed vocational nursing to associate degree nursing program at a college/university in the state of California.

Application requirements for the Licensed Vocational Nurse to Associate Degree Nurse Scholarship are:

  • Recommendation letter
  • FAFSA
  • Application form
  • Personal statement
  • Official Transcript
  • Cost of program
Additional Information: Recipient must plan to graduate after June of the current academic year. Selection will be based on the following criteria: cultural and linguistic competence, financial need, work experience, career goals, community service, background, and fluency. Recipients agree to a two-year service obligation practicing direct patient care at a qualified facility in California. Qualified facilities include those designated by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Health Resources Administration (HRSA) as a medically underserved area (MUA), health professional shortage area (HPSA), county, state or veterans facility.

Award Amount: Up to $8,000 annually, non-renewable. Funding is intended to pay tuition, required fees, books, supplies, and educational equipment costs related to the student's registered nurse or pre-nursing education.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $8,000.
