In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:
  1. Must be 25 years of age or older.
  2. Must be a U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident.
  3. This award is for U.S. students.
  4. Must be an undergraduate student at the time of application.
  5. Must be majoring in nursing or a related healthcare field.
  6. Must be a resident of Butler County, OH.

In order to qualify, students must meet the following criteria:

Description: This scholarship is available for adult re-entry students who are at least 25 years of age and residents of Butler County, OH. Applicants must have a grade point average of 3.0 or higher and plan to major in nursing or a related healthcare field.

Additional Information: Marjorie A. Johnston, a resident of Monroe, Ohio established this scholarship in memory of William Johnston. The family wishes to provide scholarships for students from Monroe and Butler County who are pursuing a higher education in nursing and health related fields.

Award Amount: $500 to $2,500 annually, renewable for up to three additional years.  The total dollars awarded for this scholarship is $6,000.

To be considered for this award, students must submit a complete application form, including the personal information section, personal statements, family information, and household financial information. It is strongly preferred that application forms are typed and printed. In addition, the student must also submit the following: a copy of his/her most recent transcripts; verification of enrollment or acceptance to an accredited college or university; two letters of recommendation from individuals who are not related to the applicant; and a resume detailing work experience and/or community service participation.
